NOTE:
Use of the true Bonanza Trailhead has been in dispute, so to hedge your bets, park before the one-lane bridge on Bridge Stree. Walk over the bridge and make a left onto E. Grove Avenue. It’s 0.2 miles to the Bonanza Trailhead in front of a cabled-off roadway. The trail sign for the Bonanza Trail #786 is nailed to a tree.
Although the true trailhead is the given parking area by the Forest Service (and there is space for a couple of cars), people who park at the cable gate have sometimes received warnings from local property owners. It is on private land and, although there is a traditional easement here, you can have peace of mind parking before the bridge and walking up E. Grove Avenue.
