Driving Directions
Driving south on I-205, take Exit 12A for Highways 224 and 212E, Clackamas and Estacada. From the merger with Highway 224, drive 3.3 miles and turn right on Highway 224E for Carver and Estacada.
Go 15.3 miles, passing through Carver and Estacada. On the east side of Estacada, at the junction with Highway 211 for Molalla and Woodburn, keep straight on Highway 224 for the Upper Clackamas River and North Fork Lake.
Drive 25.5 miles along the Clackamas River and, after passing the Ripplebrook Ranger Station and Ripplebrook Campground, cross a bridge and come to the junction with FR 57 for Timothy Lake.
Turn left here on FR 57 and drive 7.4 miles to the junction with FR 58 for Hideaway Lake and High Rock.
Turn left and then keep straight on FR 58 all the way up to the junction with FR 4610 after 7.0 miles.
Turn left here for High Rock Springs Campground (This road is also called the Abbott Road). In 1.4 miles, after you have passed High Rock, there’s a four-way junction. You are still on asphalt here; if you continue on gravel, you've gone too far.
Make another left here onto Road 240. This junction is not well marked and will probably look like a small parking lot, with fire rings and discarded garbage in it. Road 240 is the middle road. Look closely for a small brown sign with a simple 240 on it.
WARNING: FR 240 is a rough, unpaved, rocky drive, with potholes in parts, but offers views south to Olallie Butte, Mount Jefferson, Three-Fingered Jack and the Three Sisters. The road seems to deteriorate with each passing year and is absolutely NOT suitable for passenger cars with low clearance.
After 4.4 miles, reach the Frazier Turnaround and its lone picnic table.
