The new single log bridge over the West Fork Wallowa on the Ice Lake Trail (VanMarmot)
The former bridge over the West Fork Wallowa on the Ice Lake Trail (replaced by a single log bridge) (bobcat)
Green-banded mariposa lily (Calochortus macrocarpus) in a meadow above the West Fork Wallowa River (bobcat)

Description

The junction is about two and a half miles from the Wallowa Lake Trailhead. Keep left to continue on the West Fork Wallowa Trail #1820. Go right to take the Ice Lake Trail #1808. Descend to the river and find the single log bridge crossing (The substantial bridge that used to span the river is now gone). There is a rail on one side of the log, so this new bridge is very safe.

On both sides of the crossing, there are areas to camp or stop for a snack.
