Dog Mountain Lower Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Trail junction at the lower end of the "more difficult" trail. (Steve Hart)

Description

The original Dog Mountain trail was built to service a fire lookout at Puppy Dog Lookout. The trail was very steep and stayed deep in the forest for most of the distance. To add a little relief to the hike, a new trail was built with an easier grade and better viewpoints. This is the trail junction at the lower end of this new trail.
