Dry Ridge-Grouse Point Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Silver fir forest on the Grouse Point Trail south of the junction (bobcat)

Description

The Dry Ridge Trail #518 ends here where it meets the Grouse Point Trail #517. Go left and you descend a steep slope on an infrequently maintained trail to a crossing of the Roaring River that is near impossible before mid-summer. The trail rises from the river towards Huxley Lake.

The Grouse Point Trail heading right is well-maintained and keeps to a forested rim. It passes Grouse Point, which offers views to the north and northeast and then also the junction with the Serene Lake Trail #517. From there, it visits Cache Meadows and ends up at the Frazier Trailhead.
