Eagle Cap

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The Lakes Basin and the Matterhorn from Eagle Cap (Born2BBrad)
I think this image of the summit conveys that this is not a solitude hike (Jerry Adams)

Description

Eagle Cap is one of the higher peaks of the Wallowas and one of the easiest to summit, since there is a trail all the way to the top. It is the 10th highest peak in Oregon and the 4th highest in the Wallowa Mountains.

Views are expansive. Down below to the east is Glacier Lake, with Glacier Peak just to its south. You can see south far down the glacier-carved East Eagle valley. To the west, try to spot Minam Lake, Needle Point, and the upper Minam River. The spread to the north is magnificent, beginning with Mirror Lake and Moccasin Lake and then (left to right), the East Lostine valley, Hurricane Ridge, the Matterhorn, and the West Fork Wallowa River valley.
