Description
Foggy Flat is a nice alpine meadow on the north side of Mount Adams. There is a year-round drinking water stream and several campsites. This is a long way from the nearest trailhead (Killen Creek Trailhead, 7 miles) and isn't that well known so there probably won't be too many people in this area.
The main campsite is next to the trail at the meadow. The trail crosses the stream after that.
Before this, at the point where the trail first reaches the meadow, on the right, at the edge of the meadow is a crude trail that goes to a ridge with a view, goes up along the edge of the meadow to more alpine areas, and according to some guides, you can connect up to Adams Glacier Meadows. There are a number of places to camp in this area.
About 0.5 mile after Foggy Flat is another nice campsite with a view.
If you get a chance, continue up the Highline Trail to Devil's Garden for the most spectacular alpine area you can get to on Mount Adams.
