On the southeast side of Goat Lake is a nice flat sandy area that makes a nice campsite (Jerry Adams)

Description

Goat Lake is a high alpine lake surrounded by rocky cliffs where mountain goats can be spotted. The lake will be snow covered until about August.

There are a number of campsites next to the trail, or off short side trails to the south (below the lake). The southeast shore of the lake is a nice place to camp. Beware of camping here because of its high elevation and exposure. Keep your eye on the weather report and avoid bad weather. Keep all your stuff tied down or it will blow away.

No fires are allowed within 1/4 mile of the lake.
