Mt. McLoughlin from the trailhead parking area (bobcat)

Hikes starting here

Driving Directions

From Interstate 5, take Exit 14 in Ashland.

Drive east on Highway 66 for 0.7 mile, and then turn left on Dead Indian Memorial Highway.

After 6.7 miles, turn left on Shale City Road.

After 3 miles, turn left on Road 38-2E-9.2, which is gravel. When you reach a big junction after a little less than a mile, keep straight.

The road climbs up for about another mile before ending at the trailhead. There is parking at the trailhead for 10-12 cars, and it can get crowded on nice weekend days.
