Grouse Point-Cripple Creek Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Small lake in the second of the Cache Meadows near the junction (bobcat)

Description

The Cripple Creek Trail extension makes you slosh through a bog to get here, the site of the Cache Meadows Shelter, which was immolated by vandals in 2002. There's a good place to camp here still although mosquitoes might be a plague until late August. Fresh spring water can be found a little farther east, past the third meadow, on a side trail from the Grouse Point Trail that leads to the headwaters of Cripple Creek.
