Driving Directions
Drive Highway 26 west about 15 miles from Beaverton and bear left on Highway 6 for Banks and Tillamook.
Drive 52.0 miles into the center of Tillamook and turn left onto Highway 101S for Hebo and Newport.
Drive 19.6 miles to Hebo, and turn left onto Highway 22 for Valley Junction and McMinnville.
After 0.3 miles, turn left onto Mt. Hebo Road for Mt. Hebo and Hebo Lake; this is just before the Siuslaw National Forest Ranger Station.
Drive up this road for 4.7 miles (It becomes FR 14) and turn right for the Hebo Lake Campground.
Go 0.2 miles and pull into the trailhead parking area for the Pioneer Indian Trail (In winter, the campground road is closed, so you will have to park outside the gate without blocking it).
Notes
- Camping area open mid-April to mid-November
- Northwest Forest Pass (or America the Beautiful Pass) required in season or $5 day-use fee
- Park at entrance gate in winter and walk 0.2 miles along the road to the trailhead.
