Description

Herman Camp is at the junction of the Gorton Creek and Gorge Trails with the Herman Creek Trail, 1.3 miles from the Herman Creek Trailhead. From here, the Herman Creek Trail continues up Herman Creek, while the Gorton Creek Trail starts a steeper path. The Gorge Trail also heads east from here towards Wyeth Trailhead. This junction is at the northern boundary of the Mark O. Hatfield Wilderness.

The campsite is nothing much: a flat area for a number of tents and a fire ring. There are no views. There's also no water, but the map says there's a spring a short distance southeast from the junction. In the 1970s, this spot was also a trailhead - if you were willing to risk your vehicle on the slow drive up the narrow road.
