Kielhorn Meadow

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The edge of Kielhorn Meadow in late winter (bobcat)

Description

Little Kielhorn Meadow is a small grassy expanse in the northern part of Forest Park, just off of Firelane 15. There's the foundation of a house here and a fallen telephone pole. Elk sometimes graze in this meadow. A couple of large Douglas-firs stand alongside the Kielhorn Trail. Past the far end of the meadow is a gate on a track which is blocked by a fenced private property.

The meadow was acquired by the Friends of Forest Park to prevent development and preserve one of the only open spaces in the hills here.
