Description
The Labyrinth is the common name for the general area between Coyote Wall and the Rowland Basin. Catherine Creek is to the east. It gets its name from the mazelike characteristic of the narrow canyons between the rocky cliffs, essentially basalt scablands that were scoured of soil by the Missoula Floods at the end of the last ice age.
There are viewpoints to the Columbia River and oak copses scattered throughout. Wildflowers are a major draw in the spring, but poison oak is also rampant here and rattlesnakes are common.
