Latourell Falls Viewpoint

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Latourell Falls from the Viewpoint (Steve Hart)

Description

The viewpoint is just above the parking area near the site of the Falls Villa roadhouse, one of the "respites" for travelers of the Columbia River Highway. The view takes in the entire length of Latourell Falls as it plunges over a cliff of columnar basalt with its large patch of bright yellow lichen. Winter pictures are particularly dramatic.
