Description
McBride Lake is a very shallow remnant of a lake fed by a tributary of the Kalama River. As with June Lake and Blue Lake, McBride Lake was little affected by the 1980 eruption. However, like both of these lakes, volcanic silt from mountain runoff has filled up the lake and killed some of the forest around it. A large thicket of willow and alder forms a wetland near the lake.
The Toutle Trail runs through old growth forest above the lake.
