Driving Directions
NOTE: Due to fire damage, Memaloose Road has been closed from the Memaloose Bridge to MP 3.5 since 2015. These are the directions for the detour using FR 45 via Hillockburn Road:
From I-205, take Exit 12A for Highways 212 and 224E, Clackamas and Estacada.
After exiting, drive 3.2 miles and make a right on Highway 224E for Carver and Estacada.
Go 15.4 miles through Estacada and, at the junction with Highway 211S for Molalla and Woodburn, turn right.
Drive 5.0 miles before you make a left turn onto Hillockburn Road.
After 1.3 miles, make a sharp left a the junction with S. Horner Road.
Continue 21.7 miles (Pass through a yellow gate at the national forest boundary: the road becomes FR 45 here) on this slow winding forest road, which becomes gravel, to the trailhead on your right where the road crosses Memaloose Creek.
Other Notes
As you travel along FS 45, you may be disturbed to see many target shooting areas filled with shotgun shells and trash. Fortunately, these litterers have not been trashing the trailhead.
