Hike Description

There are two trails leaving the Middle Falls Trailhead. Both of them are unmarked and both are the Middle Falls Trail. Take the trail that heads straight south and immediately drop down a rocky area. The trail heads steadily downhill for 0.2 miles to a signed junction with the Lewis River Trail. Turn left and head upstream.

You'll soon come to a bridge over Copper Creek. Lower Copper Creek Falls is visible directly below the bridge. When the trail comes close to the river, there is a use path that heads back to the base of Lower Cpper Creek Falls. There's also a chance to walk out on the rocky riverbed to a view of Middle Lewis River Falls. Returning to the main trail it's a short distance to Middle Lewis River Falls. There are a number of different water courses here with a lot of different photographic possibilities.

The trail switches back here and starts steeply up the hill. You'll soon come to a junction with the Middle Falls Trail. Head up the Middle Fall Trail to the to the top of the hill. Soon, you;ll come to Copper Creek Falls, a pretty plunge even if its suffers from low flow in the summer. The trail crosses Copper Creek on a bridge above the falls then begins to parallel the road in the trees. The trail uses the road shoulder for a few feet then heads through a short section opf closed road back to the trailhead.
