Driving Directions

From the west (Portland), drive east on Interstate 84 to Exit 28 (Bridal Veil). Drive east on the Historic Highway for 2.2 miles to a small turnout on the right side. If you reach the Wahkeena Trailhead, you've gone too far. A use path leads eastward from the lot toward Mist Creek.

From the east (Cascade Locks), take exit 35 (Ainsworth Park). Drive 5.8 miles west on the Historic Highway to the same turnout, about 1/4 mile beyond (west of) the Wahkeena Trailhead.

Trailhead Information

A stone marker from the original 1916 Multnomah Lodge can be seen alongside the Historic Columbia River Highway near the Mist Falls Trailhead parking area, covering a drainage ditch. A 1971 plaque thanking Rose M. Lenske is the only trail marker, about 20 feet up the trail.
