Description
As tourist traffic began to grow in the early years of the original Columbia River Highway, travelers needed a place to dine and to stay. Multnomah Falls Lodge is a historic building built to serve these early automobile travelers in 1925. A northwest classic, it's listed on the National Historic Register. Today, it houses a restaurant, a tourist information center, a hot dog stand and a well-used set of public restrooms.
The lodge is a moment's walk from Multnomah Falls and a trailhead to a half dozen hikes - including a 2 1/2 round-trip hike to the top of the falls. For directions to this spot see the trailhead page
