Nick Eaton Viewpoint

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

View to the two forks of Herman Creek and top of Mt. Hood, Nick Eaton Trail (bobcat)

Description

About half a mile below the Ridge Cutoff Trail junction on the Nick Eaton Trail is a good viewpoint. The Nick Eaton Trail switchbacks up through a steep meadow area where there are no trees to block the view, a rarity in the Herman Creek area.

You can see west down the Columbia River Gorge to Beacon Rock as well as up the drainages of Herman Creek. The very top of Mount Hood is also visible.
