Description
The two premier waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park have the most prosaic names. North Falls is a 136 foot plunge form waterfall at the head of a large canyon. The grotto beneath the falls might be the largest in the northwest. The Canyon Trail drops down several flights of stairs and passes through the grotto behind the waterfall.
Since North Falls like, most other waterfalls, lies in a deep canyon, its often difficult to get sunlit photos. When the does pop out however, the varied viewpoints create an incredible variety of beauty.
