Description
Palisade Point is a cluster of highly weathered basaltic andesite formations along the high ridge between Lookout Mountain and Flag Point. It can be reached from either of these points, or via the Fret Creek Trail. Views extend up the Badger Creek valley to Badger Butte and Badger Lake. Mount Hood peaks up behind the high ridge line and Flag Point is visible to the east.
It is worth scrambling around these formations to discover rock pillars of many shapes. From where the Divide Trail meets the ridge, head out to the point for views. Look down to your left for some amazing needle-like spires. To the west is the highest point. Scramble around here and you will discover a small natural arch and other oddities.
