Fees and Regulations
- No fees or passes are required to park at this trailhead.
Driving Directions
Driving on I-205, take Exit 13 for Highways 224 and 213, Milwaukie and Estacada.
Turn onto Highway 224 for Estacada, drive about 2 miles to the junction with Highway 212, where you need to turn left.
Proceed another 1.6 miles, and turn right on Highway 224E for Carver and Estacada.
Go 15.3 miles, passing through Carver and Estacada. On the east side of Estacada, at the junction with Highway 211 for Molalla and Woodburn, keep straight on Highway 224 for the Upper Clackamas River and North Fork Lake.
Drive 25.5 miles along the Clackamas River and, after passing the Ripplebrook Ranger Station and Ripplebrook Campground, cross a bridge and come to the junction with FR 57 for Timothy Lake. Bear right here on FR 46 for Detroit and Bagby Hot Springs.
Drive 3.6 miles and turn right onto paved FR 63 for Bagby Campground.
After 5.7 miles, go right on gravel FR 6340 for the Dickey Creek, Bull of the Woods and Pansy Basin Trails.
Keep to FR 6340 as you wind up for 7.2 miles to a Y-junction, where you stay left
Continue 0.7 miles, and bear right on FR 6341 for the Pansy Lake Trail #551.
Go another 3.5 miles to find the trailhead on your left. There is a generous parking area.
Other Notes
- Snow usually prevents access to this trailhead from November through June.
- There is a small campsite just behind the trailhead sign shown in the picture above.
