Description

This hike goes to the first part of Paradise Park, one of the nicest alpine areas on Mount Hood. The Paradise Park from Timberline Lodge Hike describes an easier way to get there - 9.2 miles round trip and 2000' gain to the same spot as this hike. See that hike for a better description of Paradise Park.

The Paradise Park Trailhead is at 2800'. At mile 5 is the junction with the Zigzag Trail #775. At mile 5.2 is the junction with the Timberline Trail (also the Pacific Crest Trail). At mile 5.6 is the junction with the Paradise Loop Trail #757 and the end of this hike. Return the way you came.

A possible loop would be, at the Timberline Trail Junction, turn right (south) and follow it to the Hidden Lake Trail Junction, turn right, go down to the Hidden Lake Trailhead, and then follow the road about 0.6 miles to the Paradise Park Trailhead, making a 13.2 miles round trip with 3500 feet of elevation gain. You'd get some nice scenery along the Timberline Trail.
