Fees, Facilities, etc.

  • A Northwest Forest Pass (or annual America the Beautiful Pass) is required. The pass must be acquired beforehand as it is not sold at the trailhead.
  • Port-a-potty and information kiosk
  • Self-issued wilderness permit

Driving Directions

Head east on Highway 26 through Sandy. From the last traffic light in Sandy, drive 23.2 miles through Zigzag and Rhododendron to the turnoff on the left for Road 39 and the Mt. Hood Kiwanis Loop.

Proceed 1.0 mile up this road and turn left at the sign for Paradise Park Trail #778.

Look for the path on the east end of the parking area, to the right of the information kiosk. Walk east on that path about 0.15 mile until it ends at a gravel road. Turn left and proceed about 0.2 miles past the closed gate and across the Zigzag River to the trailhead sign marking the official start of the Paradise Park Trail (45.31451, -121.81575).

Notes

This parking area was built in 2021 to replace the old parking area further east along Highway 26. There is room for at least two dozen cars.
