Park Ridge

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Description

Park Ridge is a high ridge located north of Mount Jefferson. The ridge towers just north of Jefferson Park, from which it gets its name. The ridge also marks the boundary between the Mt. Hood National Forest and the Willamette National Forest.

The site is marked by a vintage Forest Service sign noting the summit as part of the Skyline Trail. The Skyline Trail was a 1920s era predecessor of the PCT that ran from Mount Hood to Crater Lake. The Skyline Trail became the Oregon section of the Pacific Crest Trail in 1968, so the sign is at least 50 years old.
