Ramona Falls Trail Junction

From Portland Hikers Field Guide

Junction of the Sandy River Trail with the Ramona Falls Trail
Junction of the Sandy River Trail with the Ramona Falls Trail

Contents

Description

About 0.2 miles past the Sandy River Bridge is a 3 way junction.

The Sandy River Trail #770 ends here, coming from the west. The Sandy River Trail is a fairly new designation, and there aren't many signs mentioning it, so if you're familiar with this area you might not even know about it.

The Ramona Falls River Side Trail #797 goes southeast from the junction. This is one of two trail to Ramona Falls. The River Side Trail is shorter, and a little warmer in the summer. If you want to take the Timberline Trail/Pacific Crest Trail south, then take this trail.

The Ramona Falls Creek Side Trail #797 goes northeast from the junction. This is the other trail to Ramona Falls. The Creek Side Trail is longer, and cooler in the summer because it follows along Ramona Creek. Take this trail if you want to go north on the Pacific Crest Trail.

If you want to go clockwise on the Timberline Trail, use either trail.
