Description
Rodney Falls is a pretty two-tiered cascade along Hardy Creek on the southern end of Hamilton Mountain. Most hikers see this falls while walking across the long wooden footbridge at the base of the falls. The first tier of the falls is partially hidden from view as its hidden in the cave-like enclosure called Pool of the Winds. It's worth the extra effort to climb up to the observation deck (visible from the footbridge) to get a top down view of the falls.
The flow of Rodney Falls varies greatly throughout the year. During the dry summer months it seemly dries up to a trickle, but in the wetter months between late fall and early spring, the water flows so strongly that you'll have a hard time avoiding getting soaked as you walk across the footbridge.
For climbers heading up to the top of Hamilton, this is an obvious picture-taking spot. You might as well rest a bit, as the climbing gets more difficult from this point up!
