Rooster Rock and Mt. Jefferson from Chicken Rock (bobcat)

Description

Rooster Rock is an Old Cascades basaltic volcanic plug on the high southern ridge of the Table Rock Wilderness. In profile, it appears as a narrow fin; the almost vertical walls make it a technical climb. Nearby Chicken Rock, just to the west, is where most hikers head to get big views and appreciate the wildflower meadows of the area. Behind Rooster Rock on the ridge is a forested prominence about 40 feet higher.
