Description

Sand Point is a destination 3 miles from Ozette Trailhead on the Sand Point Trail. There is a rocky point sticking out into the ocean. At low tide, there are tide pools.

There is a camping area with about ten sites, many of them with views to the ocean. There's a pit toilet. There's a bear wire, but you're supposed to bring a hard sided canister to prevent bear and raccoon problems. In the summer, you need reservations to camp here. There probably won't be any available summer weekends.

This area gets busy, especially summer weekends. Because of this, this area is a bit trashy and is a little over-run. They have attempted to limit this by putting logs to keep humans at the official campsites. Also, a lot of trash floats in from the ocean.
