Description
This very shallow four-acre lake nestles at the head of the Hot Springs Fork of the Collawash River valley. It is stocked with brook trout and offers secluded campsites for those willing to backpack in. Large old-growth hemlocks are a feature of the surrounding forest. Rough-skinned newts populate the lake.
The lake sits under Silver King Mountain, both named after a nearby mining operation - one of the late 19th century efforts to extract wealth from the wilderness.
