Fees and Regulations

  • Day use parking permit required, payable at an automatic ticket station
  • Open dawn to dusk
  • Information kiosk, restrooms, picnic area

  • Share some trails with mountain bikers

Driving Directions

From Redmond:

From the interchange at Exit 119 on the north end of Redmond, drive north 3.5 miles on Highway 97.

Then turn right on Smith Park Way in Terrebonne, and proceed 1.6 miles.

Make a left on 17th Street for Smith Rock State Park, and go 0.5 miles.

Then turn right on Wilcox Avenue, and drive another 0.5 miles.

Turn left on Crooked River Drive, and continue 0.6 miles into Smith Rock State Park and try to find a parKing place.

From Madras:

Drive south on Highway 97.

From the junction with Highway 26 south of Madras, continue south on Highway 97 for 17.2 miles.

Turn left onto Austin Road, and follow this road for 1.9 miles, making three turns.

At the T-junction with Wilcox Avenue, turn left, and proceed 1.0 miles.

Then turn left on Crooked River Drive, and continue 0.6 miles into Smith Rock State Park and try to find a parKing place.

Notes

There are several parking areas, but the lots all fill up on sunny weekends, so you may want to be early (i.e. before 8:00 a.m.). The fee is payable at a bright yellow fee machine in the central lot.
