Wildcat South Trailhead

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

(Redirected from South Wildcat Trailhead)
One of two campsites (Jerry Adams)
The nice outhouse (Jerry Adams)

Description

There's a campground here, the White Rock Campground, with a nice outhouse and two sites with picnic tables and fire pits. It's a fairly unused campground and tends to have beer bottles and other trash. There's an algae covered spring, with a trickle of water going into a trough used by cattle. The water tastes okay if it is treated.

Driving Directions

Drive Highway 26 northeast of Prineville about 22 miles.

Turn left on Wildcatt Mountain Road (FR 3350), and proceed 6.7 miles.

At the junction with the Wildcat Mountain Lookout Road (350 spur), keep straight for 0.4 miles on White Rock Springs Road to the trailhead and campground.
