Driving Directions
NOTE: Use this trailhead if you are staying in the campground. Directions are to the campground. Day visitors need to use the Cove Palisades Upper Deschutes Trailhead
From Portland:
Drive Highway 26 east from Gresham just over 100 miles .
Merge with Highway 97 in Madras, and drive 4.0 miles south.
Turn right onto SW Ford Lane and drive 1.9 miles.
Turn left onto SW Culver Highway and go 0.3 miles.
Go right on SW Gem Lane; drive 1.5 miles.
Turn left onto SW Frazier Drive and drive 0.3 miles.
Turn right onto SW Peck Road and drive 1.0 miles.
Continue onto SW Jordan Road to enter The Cove Palisades State Park, descend into the Crooked River Canyon, and drive 4.6 miles.
Turn left into the Deschutes Campground. A paved trail from Loop B connects to the trailhead.
From Bend:
Drive north on Highway 97 for about 32 miles.
Turn left onto SW Culver Highway and drive 4.3 miles.
Turn left onto SW Gem Lane and go 1.5 miles.
Turn left onto SW Frazier Drive and drive 0.3 miles.
Turn right onto SW Peck Road and drive 1.0 miles.
Continue onto SW Jordan Road to enter The Cove Palisades State Park, descend into the Crooked River Canyon, and drive 4.6 miles.
Turn left into the Deschutes Campground. A paved trail from Loop B connects to the trailhead.
Notes
- Use the Cove Palisades Upper Deschutes Trailhead if you are not camping.
