West Fork Wallowa River-Chief Joseph Mountain Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

West Fork Wallowa Gorge near the junction (bobcat)

Description

The junction is only about a quarter of a mile from the Wallowa Lake Trailhead. Keep left to head up the West Fork Wallowa Trail #1820. Going right takes you to another junction. Go right for viewpoint of the West Fork Wallowa's gorge and cascades. Keep left and cross a bridge to continue up the Chief Joseph Mountain Trail #1803 (However, to reach the summit, you will have to go cross-country from the trail: there are at least three ascent options once you cross BC Creek).
