Whetstone-Whetstone Mountain Trail East Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

The junction in shady ridge crest forest (bobcat)

Description

The Mt. Hood National Forest's Whetstone Trail #546 and the Willamette National Forest's Whetstone Mountain Trail #3369 share the ridge between the two jurisdictions for about 0.4 miles along the Whetstone Ridge (This is also the boundary between the Bull of the Woods and Opal Creek Wildernesses). From here, Trail #3369 plunges down the slope to Battle Ax Creek, 1,200 feet below. The Whetstone Trail #546 continues east, keeping true to the ridge crest.
