Fees and Regulations

A small fee is required to enter the recreation area and there is a station after the turnoff to collect money. NW Forest Passes are not accepted in lieu of the fee. To avoid paying the fee, you can park in a small lot right off Highway 26 and walk .5 mile to the trailhead. Don't leave anything in your car though.

Driving Directions

Head East on Highway 26 towards Welches. Around mile marker 39, turn right towards the recreation area. There is a sign 1/4 mile in advance to warn you of the turn. After turning off the highway, it is .5 paved miles to the trailhead.

Alternatives to Driving

Accessible via the Mountain Express bus line, see Sandy Area Metro for schedules.

Other Notes

The recreation area includes a 3/4 mile hike through a wetland (pictured right), as well as a campground. For more information, see the recreation.gov page.
