Driving Directions
As of July 2016, this road is really difficult for anything short of a 4WD vehicle, be careful.
Drive west from Portland on Highway 26 for about 40 miles. Just west of milepost 32, turn left on to Salmonberry Road. Salmonberry Road is pretty well hidden when traveling west. The forest roads in this area are a maze, but recent signage has helped a lot. Set your trip meter to 0 and follow the instructions below.
Step | Odometer Reading | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | 0.0 | Reset Odometer at intersection of highway 26 and Salmonberry Road. Go south on Salmonberry Road. |
2 | 1.2 | Go straight at the junction with Section 10 Road. |
3 | 3.2 | Stay to the left at the junction with Shires Road. |
4 | 4.0 | Go straight ahead on to North Fork Salmonberry Road signed "NF Salmonberry Road" |
5 | 10.2 | Go straight ahead at an unsigned intersection on to Beaver Slide Road |
6 | 12.8 | The trailhead at the end of the road |
