Giant Forest-Hamilton Cutoff Trail Junction

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Junction of the Giant Forest and Hamilton Cutoff Trails in the cottonwood swamp (bobcat)

Description

This unmarked junction is on the edge of a leafy bowl of mainly deciduous trees (maples, alders, cottonwoods), an unusual habitat in the Columbia River Gorge. During the wet season, the Hamilton Cutoff Trail, which runs left from the junction, can actually be underwater, so be prepared to get your feet soaked!
