Description
The trailhead is at the Deschutes State Recreation Area.
There is a state park with camping - $10 per night for tents and $22 per night for trailers.
Driving Directions
Drive east on I-84 to Exit 97 for Highway 206, Celilo Park and Deschutes State Park. Turn right after exiting and then left on Highway 206E for Deschutes Park and Fulton Canyon.
Drive 0.7 miles and, after crossing the bridge over the Deschutes River, turn right into the Deschutes State Park.
Drive all the way to the end of the paved park road and park at the trailhead near the group camping area.
From the end of the road, hike up to the Riverview Trail about 100 feet above you, or you could walk along the river on the hiker only trail (and get ticks on you in winter/early spring).
There's camping in the campground which will probably be full summer weekends.
Fees and Regulations
- $7 per night for backpackers leaving their cars
- Dogs on leash
