Rattlesnake Bend

From Oregon Hikers Field Guide

Nearing Rattlesnake Bend on the Deschutes, Heritage Landing Trail (bobcat)

Description

Rattlesnake Bend is the closest bend on the Deschutes River to the Columbia River; it is about two miles from the mouth of the Deschutes. The river sweeps below a high bluff on the east bank. There is a minor rapid south of the bend.

If you're hiking on the west side of the river, you'll probably turn around here. On the east side of the river, this marks the state park boundary and the junction of the Rail Trail with the Riverview and Ferry Springs Trails.
